One of the features of our 11+ course is our system to monitor your child's progess. We provide regular short tests that are standardised to show you how your child is getting on. They are also a useful indication of the importance of exam technique in the 11+. By watching your child taking the tests, you will probably soon notice how many ten year olds, particularly the clever ones, are not wired to make the most of the time they are given. Clever children can have the most problems as many of them are not used to giving up on questions. They can spend all of their time trying to do a tricky question and not get to the easy questions that follow.
If this is the first time you've visited this page, you may want to read a little more about how standardised scores work and the sort of mistakes you need to look out for. You can find all of this on our Standardised Scores page.
This service is part of the course and there is no extra to pay. When we get to the summer, we offer something similar for providing standardised scores of numerous 11+ practice papers. Practice papers are a really useful preparation for the exam as you can watch to see how they don't make the most of their time and any other silly mistakes. However, you don't know how hard the paper is and whether a score of 75% is good enough or not. For a small fee you submit your answers. You will then get a report showing what percentage got each question right (so you can see the easy questions your child should have also got right) and a standardised score to give meaning to their percentage score.
